THANK YOU PTO BOARD!
Published: Tue, May 29, 2018, 05:30PM CDT

This was a fabulous year in terms of strong parent support of the PTO and looking ahead to the board next year, I fully expect that to continue!

A few of our many highlights:

  • With an enhanced budget, our CREATIVE programs coordinators expanded the programs offerings to sponsor a “Year of Kindness” for our students.
  • The FUN-LOVING socials coordinators hosted 3 incredible socials — the students have never had more fun and have never seen the attendance we enjoyed this year!
  • The AMAZING treasurer processed hundreds of checks and payments, filed countless sales tax and federal tax forms and successfully passed the audit! She keeps our PTO within financial guidelines and filling all federal and state requirements of a non profit.
  • The INCREDIBLE Web Store Coordinator kept us all organized with the full offering of everything you needed for back to school, everything from school supply fees to spirit wear, birthday board announcements to socials tickets. She organized schedule pick up day to minimize wait times and insure a smooth process.
  • The ADEPT Secretary diligently took notes at the PTO meetings to be posted on the website.
  • The ROCK STAR hospitality team treated the teachers to wonderful snacks, lunches and treats EVERY MONTH throughout the year. Our teachers LOVE them!
  • The ORGANIZED Grants team gifted over $40,000 to North including a sizeable down payment to an outdoor learning space for all of our North students to enjoy.
  • The DETAILED AND EXCEPTIONAL parliamentarian read, rewrote and took a board vote to get the North PTO organized and up to date with our operating procedures.
  • The MOTIVATED Auction Team raised 2 times the budgeted money with the North PTO auction.
  • The EFFICIENT Volunteer coordinator, office, bookfair/library and copy room coordinators organized all the parent volunteers and kept everyone up to date on the volunteer needs of the school.
  • The COMPASSIONATE Community Welfare Coordinator was there to step in and offer support to our North community as needed and participate in Student Health Initiatives across CISD.
  • Our ENCOURAGING Extra Mile Team recognized North teachers going above and beyond in their jobs.
  • Our EFFICIENT, SMART and SALES ORIENTED Membership team organized the PTO datebase and published a directory while raising more local business advertising funds than North has seen in a long time!
  • Our ARTISTIC Spirit Wear team created a fresh new approach to North Cougar Spirit Wear and blew their sales target out of the water!!!
  • Our DILIGENT Student Announcements Team pulled information from the daily student announcements and sent weekly emails to parents.

THANK YOU PTO Board. Now enjoy the summer and rest up! I look forward to a great start of the school year in August.

2018-19 Incoming 7th Grade Immunizations
Published: Mon, May 14, 2018, 02:03PM CDT

Dear Parents: For most of you, your child has received or will receive immunizations when you visit your pediatrician this spring and summer. Most likely they will include the two that are required for students to enter 7th grade: Meningococcal (MCV4) and Tdap/Td (within the last five years).  Updating your school record with these shots will give you a jump on meeting the state requirement for 7th grade, and make it a smooth transition from 6th to 7th grade. Get it done now so you don’t have to look for it later. Students who don’t have updated immunizations will not receive their 7th grade schedules on August 9, 2018.

Please provide me with an official shot record, or a notarized official affidavit of exemption, now or as soon as your child receives shots. During this school year please send it to me.

Send official records to CMSN by: August 9th, 2018 in order for your student’s schedule to be given out.

Published: Wed, Apr 11, 2018, 04:51PM CDT

As Coppell ISD continues with its Strategic Design efforts, the district is providing an opportunity for all stakeholders to review the district’s draft values and strategies, which have resulted from all the great insight shared via the online questionnaire, in-depth interviews and vision alignment workshops that have taken place over the last three and a half months. District staff and third-party facilitators working on this effort will be available for Q&A and clarification opportunities for students, parents, community members and alumni on Friday, April 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Vonita White Administration Building, 200 S.Denton Tap Road. These individuals also will be available for CISD staff at the same location from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16. This is a “come and go” event in an effort to keep our stakeholders informed about the progress we’re making. School Safety Reminder - The Tip Line
Published: Tue, Apr 3, 2018, 02:24PM CDT

Coppell ISD takes school safety very seriously. The health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff always will remain the district’s highest priority. In light of these recent trying times, the district asks that the lines of communication remain open with our students, as well as with our teachers, staff and administrators.

  • As we continue to look out for each other and keep, “If you see something; say something,” in mind; we remind you that CISD has an anonymous tip line available online at www.coppellisd.com/Page/8824 or by calling 972-436-TIPS (8477). As always, 911 should be the first call in any emergency situation.
  • School counselors are available should students need any additional support. School principals and associate/assistant principals also are sources to share concerns. If you are looking for resources on how to talk to your children about the recent school shooting or other tough topics that may be on your mind, www.parenttoolkit.com provides some additional tools and advice.
